Excellent book. I love all books by James Lee Burke. He doesn't just write, he builds worlds and stories inhabited with people that become part of your life, your family and your world.
I saw that he was called 'A Natural Treasure' by a publishing company. Its impossible for me to disagree with that or to find words to express how his books make me feel.
If you haven't yet discovered his books you have a beautiful time ahead of you.
His characters aren't perfect, his villains are not at all varnished.
You'll learn the truth about all aspects of society and be a better person for it.
